The Austin metro has more ranches for sale than any other metro area in the country underscoring the region’s growing role in a luxury real estate market fueled by lifestyle buyers as much as traditional ranchers. The Austin area had 727 active ranch listings in June, the highest total among U.S. metro areas. The median asking price was $1.4 million, down 6.7% from a year earlier. Four of the five metro areas with the most ranch listings were in Texas, the report found.
