We’ve seen quite the range of mortgage interest rates since 1976 from a peak of 16.63% in 1981 to a low of 2.96% in 2021. This graph visually shows how rates have fluctuated over the years: rates were below 5% from 4.69% in 2010 to 2.96% in 2021…a twelve year run with low rates. And, yes, rates have gone up since 2021, but we are not too far from the norm.
