Many young people feel crushed when they think about their ability to buy a home, but it doesn’t mean they’re giving up on the dream. The average age of first-time home buyers rose to an all-time high of 38 last year. In a market where Baby Boomers have the upper hand and ability to pay in cash, the share of first-time home buyers sank to an all-time low of 24%.
