Worrying about the future of our home sales market?

“Worrying is like paying a debt you didn’t owe.” – Mark Twain

The above quote ties into what I want to discuss with this post: Worry about the direction of our national and local home sales markets. There is no doubt we’ve been through the wringer the past few years starting with Covid 19 five years ago, followed by record-setting interest rate increases beginning 3 years ago and then through a tumultuous U.S. Presidential election cycle last year.

So, it is quite natural that you and others might have misgivings about the future of our Austin metro home sales market. I’ve lived in Austin since 1971 and have been a Realtor since 2005 (19 years) so I’ve seen my share of economic cycles in both our Austin economy and our real estate market. Austin has always fared better than most other cities, going back to when I first moved here and continuing through the past 20 years or so. And, we have weathered the “storms” that I began with above very well, too. I firmly believe 2025 will be the year we continue this progress as we reassert our community as one of the strongest in the nation.
