Nearly a decade after being proposed, Leander’s Northline project to give the city a downtown area is gaining momentum. New financing to build a commercial office building was announced last week. In addition, there’s ongoing construction of retail and restaurant spaces, discussion with possible developers for a hotel and convention center, and designs underway for a senior living area. There also are plans to develop a 20-acre international “component” at the 116-acre site but declined to release details.
